Wassailing at Tarring Village in West Sussex

Banging and chanting filled the air on the Eve of the Twelfth Night (5th of January) in the ancient village of Tarring in West Sussex, UK. 'Waes Haeil' was the cry as the annual Wassailing at Tarring awakened the tree spirits on a cold winters night. Green men, dancing, shouting and toast in a tree all part of this archaic ritual.

Arundel By Candlelight

It was a cold and frosty December night, as I headed to the Arundel By Candlelight Christmas event to take some photographs. It's about meeting new people, talking, learning and discovering new things. I watch and listen. I talk and ask questions trying to find the story!

Pedal In Preston Park Velodrome Brighton

Preston Park Velodrome in Brighton is the oldest cycle track in the UK and was built in 1877. I was surprised when I first heard about it as I have covered many photo assignments in Brighton over the years but for some reason never heard of the track. Researching it further and discovering its history I soon decided that it would make a great photo project. And so one lovely Autumn's day in October I visited the track whilst a charity cycling event called 'Pedal In Preston Park' was being held.
