Photography Workshops & Photography Walks In Brighton & Sussex
Learn the photography skills required to create storytelling images in Brighton & Sussex with the professional photographer, Scott Ramsey.
A photojournalist with 30 years experience his workshops and photography walks inspire photographers of all abilities.
For Scott, the story is everything!
"The challenge for any photographer, whatever their experience, is to create or capture a moment in a photograph that has feeling, emotion and above tells a story. Creating unique images that firstly make the viewer stop and then later inspire them to find out more is every photographer's challenge, especially in 2018. To create a photographic essay takes time, preparation and above all empathy with your subject."
My passion for creating stories and documenting life has been with me since I first picked up a camera 30 years ago, and for some time now I've wanted to share some of this knowledge. After months of preparation, I'm delighted to announce this summer I'm teaming up with my good friend and award-winning photojournalist, Glenn Edwards, and running a two-day photojournalism workshop in Brighton, East Sussex.
Former UK Press Photographer of the Year, Glenn has made over 100 foreign assignments during his career, predominately in Africa. Before its demise, he was a regular contributor to The Independent and its sister papers and magazines. A lecturer in photojournalism at South Wales University, Glenn, is also a consultant for the Thomson Foundation holding workshops in Nigeria, Malawi, and Abu Dhabi. In fact, Glenn has just returned from Beirut where he was teaching storytelling workshops to photojournalists from Yemen, Syria and Lebanon, a course funded by the British Council.

The Brighton Photojournalism Workshop
I genuinely believe we have created a unique opportunity that photographers will find informative, creative and above all inspiring. Between us, we have more than 50 years experience working as photographers, and I'm really excited to be offering this opportunity for people to join us this summer. Held over the course of a weekend, attendees will join us in the fabulous city of Brighton in East Sussex, England. The photography workshop is for anybody, amateur or pro, who wants to learn how to create storytelling photographs. The only thing you need is a camera, ideally a laptop so you can edit some of the photos, a passion for storytelling and a thirst for knowledge.
By the end of the weekend, all attendees will have had the opportunity to create a photo essay and explore Brighton while being inspired and taught by myself and Glenn.
Sound good? Let us know you're interested by registering below and we will be in touch with more info at the beginning of May, 2018.
