A Photographer's Ode To The Beautiful County Of West Sussex

West Sussex, my magical home county. I was born and bred here, and I have worked as a professional photographer and videographer in this beautiful county of Southern England for most of my life. And oddly, I've never felt the need to pick up sticks and live anywhere else!

I'll never say never, but often when I've considered it, I've asked myself why would I?

I live in a small village by the sea and have the beautiful South Downs National Park on my doorstep. Sure, I travel on photography assignments for work and visit some beautiful places, but Sussex is something special, particularly West Sussex.

We even have our own motto, "We wunt be druv" It's a Sussex dialect phrase meaning "we will not be driven". The motto asserts that Sussex people have minds of their own, and cannot be forced against their will or told what to do.

Something I may have been accused of in the past ;-)

As you can imagine, I've taken thousands of photographs over the years, but this photograph is one of my favourites. It shows a lone horse rider riding along the crest of a hill on the South Downs National Park just as the sunsets.

A beautiful scene from the place I call home.
