Arundel By Candlelight

It was a cold and frosty December night, as I headed to the Arundel By Candlelight Christmas event to take some photographs. Arundel is a small market town famous for it's medieval castle, antique shops and historic buildings. The River Arun runs through the town which is very popular with tourists and day trippers. Each year the Arundel Chamber of Commerce organises the Christmas event and supported by local traders the town centre is filled with Christmas lights, market stalls and  thousands of visitors enjoying the festivities. Father Christmas, A Gorilla Called Emmie - It's Beginning To Look A lot Like Christmas!

Is it Christmas already? What happened to the last year? Where did it go? Is that Father Christmas with a Gorilla? Don't panic Mr Mannering!  All will become clear soon enough. A few years ago whilst I was working for a press agency in Kent I was sent on a very important Christmas photo assignment to photograph Father Christmas delivering presents to some Gorillas at a local wild animal park. As Santa handed out the presents and I took my photographs I wondered to myself what does a Gorilla really want for Christmas…….?
