Saltdean Lido A Derelict Art Deco 1930's Lido in East Sussex

Built in the late 1930's, Saltdean Lido looks rather unloved and sorry for it's self as you catch a glimpse of it whilst traveling along the A259 coast road in East Sussex, UK. This derelict art deco Lido has been closed for several years with only local seagulls able to enjoy the open air swimming pool. Once a must go to place for holiday makers during the golden age of the 1930's over 160 Lido's where built across the UK.

Arundel By Candlelight

It was a cold and frosty December night, as I headed to the Arundel By Candlelight Christmas event to take some photographs. Arundel is a small market town famous for it's medieval castle, antique shops and historic buildings. The River Arun runs through the town which is very popular with tourists and day trippers. Everyone Has A Story To Tell Even A Dog

I Love Photography! It's official, there you go. I've said it. I love a photo that tells a story, a photo that makes you think or enables you to experience something new. I'm always taking photos, I guess I'm a little obsessive. Even if I don't have my camera with me I'm using my iPhone. But it's not just about taking the photo that I enjoy. It's about meeting new people, talking, learning and discovering new things. I watch and listen. I talk and ask questions trying to find the story!

Pedal In Preston Park Velodrome Brighton

Preston Park Velodrome in Brighton is the oldest cycle track in the UK and was built in 1877. I was surprised when I first heard about it as I have covered many photo assignments in Brighton over the years but for some reason never heard of the track. Researching it further and discovering its history I soon decided that it would make a great photo project. And so one lovely Autumn's day in October I visited the track whilst a charity cycling event called 'Pedal In Preston Park' was being held.

Littlehampton Bonfire Torchlight Procession

Littlehampton Traditional Bonfire Night and Torchlight Procession dates back 62 years and attracts thousands of people to the seaside town in West Sussex. It is a celebration of the anniversary of the overthrow of the attempt by Guy Fawkes and his fellow conspirators to blow up the King and Parliament on 5th November 1605. I have covered the event many times before when I was a local newspaper photographer, however this year I wanted to capture the people that take part.

Apple Day In Slindon West Sussex

It's early autumn and as the days draw shorter, the countryside around me is turning a beautiful golden colour. A recent search to find a local commercial apple orchard lead me to the Apple Day at Slindon in West Sussex. With a traditional rack and cloth oak cider press, called 'Big Bertha', being used and lots of apples, I spent the day taking photos of the traditional applying pressing process.
